Laakso Hospital

The LATU design group is preparing a project plan for the Laakso joint hospital, and a change to the town plan for the Laakso district of Helsinki will be prepared alongside it. The Laakso LATU architecture group is a consortium of four architecture architectural: Lukkaroinen Architects, AW2 Architects, Tähti-Set and UKI Architects.

An internationally significant competence centre

The Laakso joint hospital is the centralised base for comprehensive psychiatric hospital care provided by the City of Helsinki and the Hospital District of Helsinki and Uusimaa (HUS), somatic hospital care provided by the City of Helsinki, and demanding neurological rehabilitation services provided by HUS. In addition to hospital wards, the joint hospital houses support functions for the outpatient clinic, helping to ensure the flexibility of treatment chains and the quality of care.
