Surrounded and inspired by nature
The home areas and auxiliary spaces of the two-storey building spread out like wings around the common areas in the centre. The façade surfaces feature light panelling with brick red, ochre yellow, moss green and grey accent colours. The outdoor staircase, which features an aluminium slat wall with circular openings of different sizes, acts as the focal point of the façade on the side of the playground.
The accent colours of the interior colour scheme mirror the accents of the façade, with some of them featuring a more pastel-like tone. The floors of the hallways and lobbies are light grey, and the colouring of the group rooms includes a touch of brick red. The floor of the multifunctional hall features a large multi-coloured compass pattern. The white walls and the light wood-like pattern of the partition walls create a peaceful and spacious feel.
The fixtures have been designed according to user wishes and the overall concept of the Espoo PPP project. The frames of the furniture are white, while the doors have a light wood-like design. The backboards, table tops and spaces between fixtures feature various accent colours.
